The Game Fair Camping is the first of the Campingninja 2017 events where both Interns and Volunteers will be working alongside staff. Interns will become part of the management team, with time spent with the Campingninja team running up to the event to ensure all the training necessary will be provided. For interns, this will be the equivalent of a full time position, working 6 days on and 1 day off over the 2 weeks. Volunteers will be able to take on a more casual role, working up to 5 hours a day, with accommodation and meals included and plenty of time to enjoy The Game Fair.
Interns will be given the opportunity to get relevant work experience across the whole event, from site visits to site creation, receiving guests and close down. For volunteers, this is an opportunity to experience the best of British country life, and receive free accommodation and communal meals in exchange for up to 5 hours volunteering per day.
The National Game Fair is being held at Hatfield House in Hertfordshire, bringing together all aspects of outdoor pursuits and field sports, at an event that has been running for decades. The Game Fair Camping will be located on the estate, with access via Hatfield House. Hatfield is only 20 minutes by train from London so it is conveniently located for people from all over the country to travel to, and we expect to be welcoming around 4000 thousand visitors to camp with us in this beautiful part of the country.
The Game Fair Camping will mark the launch of our Micro Internship Programme for Summer 2017. The Micro Internship aims to offer relevant work experience to those wanting to pursue careers in outdoor activities or Event Management. The successful applicants will take on their own role and responsibilities within the management team. The Micro Internship will be held across two events, The Game Fair Camping and Edinburgh Festival Camping. Applicants can choose to just apply for one of the two events, but availability to work across both events is favourable.
The successful Micro Interns will become a part of the management team, with opportunities to join our Operations Manager on site visits, assigned days to join us at our Nailsworth based office, and their own role with ongoing support during the events.
Micro Interns must be available for the full duration of the events, The Game Fair Camping (20th July – 2nd August 2017) and Edinburgh Festival Camping (30th July – 30th August 2017), plus at least three working days within the two weeks before The Game Fair Camping event to join us in our Nailsworth office.
This is a full time position, so you will be working 8 hours per day, with 6 days on and 1 day off.
Travel costs will be paid for by Campingninja for the office visits and to get you to and from the campsite. Tented accommodation with an air bed will be provided for on site accommodation. You will either have a 3 man tent to yourself, or share a 4 man tent with separate sleeping compartments with one other person (volunteer or Intern) of the same sex. You will need your own sleeping bag. On site meals will be provided. If you have any dietary requirements, you must let us know.
Successful applicants will become a member of the team and take on their own responsibilities. This is an opportunity for growth and industry relevant work experience, so if you are willing to put in the time then you will learn and benefit from this experience.
We have a limited number of Micro Intern places, so if you are unable to commit to the position, you must let us know so we can offer the opportunity to another applicant.
We are looking for volunteers who would like to volunteer for 5 hours per day (on average) at The Game Fair Camping. We know from years of experience that volunteering is a rewarding and incredibly social experience, where people meet friends for life, discover new interests and just get to enjoy being part of a new community. Accommodation and communal meals will be included. You will either have a three man tent to yourself, or we will ask you to share a 4 man tent with separate sleeping compartments with another volunteer of the same sex. If you have any dietary requirements, please get in touch as we may not be able to cater for you. You will be able to spend the rest of your time exploring the area and The Game Fair. We hope to be able to offer volunteers complimentary admission to The Game Fair and we will confirm this as soon as possible!
As a volunteer, you will perform a variety of tasks:
Volunteers are needed from 20th July to 2nd August 2017.
We ask for a minimum stay of 7 days, and volunteers must be able to arrive on either 20th July or 24th July.
The Game Fair Camping is a temporary campsite being set up for visitors to the Game Fair, an annual event that is held at different locations each year. The Game Fair Camping is located behind Hatfield House in Hertfordshire, and will provide a number of grass camping pitches (with and without electric hook up), pre-pitched camping and Luxury Glamping. Like our other events, the campsite is being set up from scratch so working with us provides a great insight into the different aspects of what it takes to set up events and festivals.
As we are working in conjunction with The Game Fair, The Game Fair organisers will provide facilities at the campsite including a small convenience store, a bar and food outlets. Showers and toilet facilities will be available for all guests, and guests staying in our pre-pitched and Glamping area will have their own exclusive social area, their own showers and toilets and a VIP parking area. Free parking is available for all guests and staff at the campsite car park.
The Game Fair Camping campsite will be in operation from Thursday 20th July until Saturday 2nd August. Guests will be on site from 26th to 31st July.
