10 Sep Giant Tipis are a hit in Edinburgh
Guests are loving our new Giant Tipis! Having debuted at Camp Cardiff, the temporary accommodation for the Champion’s League Finals 2017 in Cardiff, these new additions to the 2017 Campingninja fleet are proving themselves to be a great success at Edinburgh Festival Camping.
Three Giant Tipi hats have taken the centre stage at Edinburgh Festival Camping, the only campsite dedicated for visitors and performers of the Edinburgh Festivals. As the new home to official Fringe Venue 403, with an all-day cafe and licenced bar, and the coolest inside social space you could find on a campsite, these Giant Tipis are rocking it.
Is there anything better than the smell of real barista coffee and bacon butties in the morning? Our cafe is open all day long, and we’re even a licenced bar. In fact, next year we’re looking for a local brewery to supply some delicious locally brewed beer for our guests to drink. Do you know anyone?
At the end of the Tipi, our last Giant Hat is the home of Fringe Venue 403! Yes, there’s a real stage, real lighting, comfy rattan furniture to kick back on and plenty of space to sit, stand and dance! Musicians sang, actors acted and belly dancers gave dance classes. We call ourselves The Fringe of The Fringe, and this new home is the perfect venue for intimate shows, learning performance skills and feeling like you are a part of the Fringe.
Talk about a showstopper. The thing about the Giant Tipis is not only are they structurally stunning, they’re also magical. Standing at nearly 30 feet tall, they are IMPRESSIVE, but as you step under the canvas it is like you have stepped into a different world. Like a speakeasy, they have so much character and they are the perfect microcosm of the Fringe.
We love them, and we love that our guests did too.
